Waiver changing the answerStarting today a new validation is in place to prevent duplicates being created by parents. In the registration process now, the parent that try to create a profile that have an exact match with the first name, last name and Date of birth will be blocked and will receive this error message :

An error occurred

A participant with the exact first name, last name, and birth date already exists in HCR. Please get in touch with your hockey association or organization to get access to your existing profile or to create this new profile.

Registrar’s will be able to search for the duplicate, determine if it’s the same person or not and either transfer or create a new profile as necessary (with same First Name, Last Name, DOB).

New question in registration

As an organization, Hockey Canada need to be able to know how many of the participants are New Canadians so they can focus the marketing and programs as necessary.

If a registrant selects anything other than Canada for “Birth Country” in their registration, another dropdown appear, asking:

What year did you move to Canada?

The answer is the the same as the address Move-In Year where you can only select a year.

Changing the waiver response

A lot of users a requesting the ability to change the waiver answer on a signed waivers. We will now allow the user to change the answer on the waivers at anytime inside My Account as long as they are using the same identity as they used for signing this waiver. No one else will be able to request a change on the answer.

The user won’t be able to unsigned the waiver but only change the value of the answer. Therefore there will be no impact on the roster.

Min max age

Hockey Canada as reviewed the available division, class and categories available for 2024. Starting this season, now other organization except Hockey Canada will be allowed to change or create the division , class and category.

In order to allow MHA to open the registration for a specific age range, we have introduced the minimum and maximum age fields in the registration package form. As you select the division where you ant to connect the fee, you will now see the two below fields.

...

Those fields are optional, if you leave them blank the system will use the age of the division. If you want to limit the package to a specific date range, then you can do by setting the age. Those values will roll over from season to season.

Updates and Improvements

Age display

We have improved the age display in some of the registrar view. Every season when we roll over the season, we get questions about why the age is not calculated correctly. This is an issue related to the fact that not all the branches are launching the registration at the same time.

In order to prevent this and give a solution that works for everyone, we are launching an update in the display in this version. We will now always display the age as of today and the age as of the reference date on the current registration season.

This is only a display change, we did not change any rules related to the registration process. We will continue to add the same information in different views in the system in the next couple of weeks.
