MARCH 11, 2025

Here’s the latest releases and updates from the Spordle PLAY platform

Improvements

Show Number of Selected Officials in Add Qualified Officials Form

  • A new section called “Selected Officials” has been added to the Add Qualified Officials form. This explicitly displays the officials selected while searching, making it easier to track selections across multiple searches.

Simplify Officials Categories

  • Selecting categories for officials was previously unintuitive, especially for tenants with many categories like Hockey Canada. The UI has been simplified by replacing the previous tabbed interface with straightforward checkboxes for easier selection.

Assign Panel Filters Now Include Instead of Exclude

  • Filters in the assigned panel previously excluded officials, often leading to confusion when all officials were filtered out unintentionally. The filters now include officials based on selection, aligning with familiar UX patterns used in shopping and list filtering.

Open Official Participant Link in a New Tab

  • To improve navigation and prevent users from losing their place, all official participant links now open in a new tab.

Translate Assigning System Values

  • Assigning system values are now available in French when browsing in Play in French mode.

Add Shared Boolean to Draft Edit Form

  • Managers can now share/unshare a draft game directly from the draft game form. Additionally, draft games are labeled as “Shared” or “Not Shared” for better clarity.

Bug Fixes

Non-Shared Draft Games Visibility Fix

  • As an admin, non-shared draft games where the home team is in your office will now appear only in the schedule show but not in the office scheduler.

  • Previously, admins could see non-shared draft games in the “Games” tab despite lacking access. This has been corrected.

  • A “Shared” / “Not Shared” label has been added to draft game rows for clear visibility.

Qualification Card in Profile Now Displays Future Season Qualifications

  • Previously, qualifications in an official’s profile would not display for future seasons beyond the current one. This issue has now been fixed.

Group Input Sizing Issue Resolved

  • When a schedule had 15+ groups, the group input would incorrectly switch from chips to an oversized dropdown. This has been corrected for consistent input sizing.

Improved Team Matching During Schedule Import

  • The system now prioritizes HCRId matching over name matching when importing a schedule, ensuring better accuracy in team assignments.

Role Group Now Deletes Properly When Group is Removed

  • Deleting a group previously left an empty role chip in the UI. Now, when a group is deleted, associated roles are updated accordingly.

Fix for Unapproved Games with Participant Stats

  • A rare issue occurred when a user operated the Scorekeeping Application offline and continued post-game data entry. This resulted in-game statistics being calculated despite the game not being marked as ended. The system now ensures that statistics are only recorded for fully completed games.
