User Guide_Opening a Paysafe Account

 

OBJECTIVE: This guide is primarily intended to indicate where and how to create a Paysafe merchant account from Spordle ID. Simply follow the 5 steps for opening a Paysafe merchant account. It also explains how to access the portal to check the status of the application and validate the bank account added in step 3 of the Paysafe Account Opening Form.

 

OPENING A PAYSAFE MERCHANT ACCOUNT

Where to Access in Spordle ID

 

  • To start opening the Paysafe account, please use the button in Spordle ID.

  • Click on the "Manage" menu and select "Organization".

  • In the "Organization" section, open the "General" tab.

 

  • Scroll down to the bottom of the page, in the "Merchant Accounts" section.

  • Click on the "" button under the Paysafe logo.

 

PAYSAFE MERCHANT ACCOUNT OPENING FORM

  • You will be directed to a secure environment to complete the five-page, five-step application form. This application for a merchant account must be completed by an officer who is not a member of the board or by an administrator on the board listed in the business register of the organization concerned. Make sure you have all the required information available, including the legal name of the organization, institution, account, and transit numbers, as well as your driver’s license.

 

STEP #1 - ORGANIZATION INFORMATION

 

Here's a list of information to provide to complete this step:

  1. Merchant account name: This corresponds to your common name. If you have more than one merchant account in the same organization, please specify the name to be able to differentiate them.

  2. Legal name of the company/organization : This is the name registered in the Quebec business register which must match the one on your cheques. Any difference could prevent the validation of your bank account.

  3. Business/organization category : Please choose the category that best represents you among these three (3) options (Recreational Service, Charity, Education).

  4. Organization website (ex : https://www.site.com)

  5. Phone number (customer support) (+1 --____)

  6. Language choice (French or English)

  7. Organization email: Make sure you use a generic email address to keep in touch even after you leave the board.

  8. Information to display on the "Credit Transaction" - Buyer's credit card statement :

This name will appear on your customers’ credit card statements. Ideally, use your common name. The description must contain a maximum of 20 characters, with spaces included

Phone number (+1 --____)

To avoid chargebacks, which incur a $15 fee, make sure to select a name that your customers will recognize.

  1. Detailed account information:

Type of business/organization

Choose from these three (3) categories the one that best represents you (Charity, Corporation, Non-profit Organization)

Description (e.g., Sports Organization)

Business tax identification/registration number (if none, indicate 000000000)

The federal tax number should resemble: XXXXX XXXX RC0001, and the first 9 digits must be entered

Approximate annual revenue

  1. Have you previously handled credit transactions? (Yes/No)

Answer YES

  1. Have you previously made deliveries of goods? (Yes/No)

Answer NO

  1. Do you have a refund policy? (Yes/No)

Answer YES

Here is an example of a refund policy: Registration fees for our sports organization are refundable before the start of the current season, excluding transaction fees.

  1. Do you want to apply for Visa and Mastercard Debit? (Yes/No)

Answer YES

  1. Merchant address (YOU ARE THE MERCHANT):

STEP #2 - APPLICANT INFORMATION

 

This step aims to ensure that the request comes from a real person, and therefore the applicant must submit their information for verification and validation.

  • First Name

  • Last Name

  • Email Address (please enter a valid email)

  • Position within the company/organization

  • Phone Number (+1 --____)

  • Date of Birth

  • Percentage ownership of the applicant Enter minimum 25%

  • Residence of the responsible person:

Address (Door number, street)

Address 2 (Apartment number, if necessary)

City

Postal Code

Country

Province

  • Duration of residence at this address (in years)

 

STEP #3 - BANKING INFORMATION

The third step involves entering the banking information of the organization for which the request to open a Paysafe merchant account is being made. Here are the required details:

Banking Information:

  • Account Number (5 to 12 digits)

  • Transit Number (5 digits)

  • Institution Number (3 digits)

 

STEP #4 - TERMS AND CONDITIONS

At this stage, you will be prompted to read and accept Paysafe's terms and conditions as a merchant.

 

STEP #5 - USER CREATION

Here is the list of information to submit for Step 5, which involves creating the user to access the Paysafe NetBanx merchant portal:

  1. Username:

Between 2 and 64 characters

Can contain letters and numbers

Letters must be lowercase

Cannot contain spaces

  1. Password:

At least 8 characters

Can contain letters and numbers

Must contain at least one uppercase and one lowercase letter

  1. Email address

  2. Secret question (choose one from the provided list)

  3. Answer of secret question

ACCESS THE NETBANX PORTAL

Once your account is created, you will need to monitor the approval of your account via this URL: https://login.netbanx.com/

REQUEST STATUS

Once logged into the platform, you will be able to view the status of your request.

 

When your "Status" is "Enabled", your account is ready to receive funds. However, for your income to be transferred to your account, you must finalize the "Bank account validation". To do this, click on "Validate", which will open this window.

BANK ACCOUNT VALIDATION

During the bank account validation step, you could complete the procedure to enable your income to be transferred to your account with one of the two options.

  1. Click on the "Validate" button in Netbanx to open the bank account validation window. Paysafe will make a micro-deposit of $0.01 to $0.99. You must check your organization's bank account to identify this deposit and enter the amount in the designated field. This action will instantly link the two accounts (your Paysafe account and your bank account).
