Finances – Discounts

This optional feature allows you to offer discounts when one or more participants register in the same transaction: family discounts, multiple participant discounts, zip code discounts, or a combination of both.

To apply these discounts, you will need to determine whether it is a dollar amount or a percentage off the registration fee, then define rules identifying which participants will receive the discount.

Please note that no discounts can be applied to membership fees.

Adding a discount

Here are the steps to follow to add a discount:

1. In your dashboard, click on the “Catalog” menu and select the “Discounts” option.

Adding a “Multi-Participant” discount

Here's how to fill out the “Add Discount” form to offer a “Multi-Participant” discount (family discount):

1. In the “Type” field, select the “Multi-Participant” option.

2. In the “Mode” field, select the option for an amount to be determined ($) or a percentage to be deducted from the total costs (%).

3. Enter the title of your discount.

4. Enter the amount or percentage of your discount and define the rules for determining which participants are eligible for it, e.g., second child, third child, etc.

It is not possible to grant a discount for a single participant, as this is a family discount.

5. Indicate the expiration date of the discount if necessary.

6. Select the status: Active or Inactive.

7. Click the Confirm button.

Adding a “Postal code” discount

Here's how to fill out the “Add a discount” form to offer a “postal code” discount:

1. In the “Type” field, select the “Postal code” option, then click on the Edit postal codes link.

2. Enter the name of the city for which you want to offer a discount, the first three characters of its postal code, and then click the Search button.

3. Check the boxes for the postal codes of your choice or select them all by clicking Select All, then click the Add button.

5. Enter the title of your discount.

6. Enter the amount or percentage of your discount.

7. Indicate the discount expiration date if necessary.

8. Select the status: Active or Inactive

Adding a “Postal code” discount and a “Multi-participants” discount

Here's how to fill out the “Add a discount” form to offer a “Multi-Participant” discount and a zip code discount in the same online store:

1. In the “Type” field, select the “Postal code” option, then click on the Edit postal codes link.

6. Enter the amount or percentage of your zip code discount and set the rules as follows to add the discount:

   1. Enter the amount of your discount by zip code for your participant #1.

   2. Click +Add Rules.

   3. If a family discount is applied to the second participant, add the zip code discount to the “Multi-Participant” discount and enter the total in the “Discount” field.

   4. If a family discount is only granted to the third participant, enter the zip code discount in the “Discount” field for participant #2, then add the zip code discount to the “multiple participants” discount and enter the total in the “Discount” field for participant #3.

Example:

An organization offers a $25.00 zip code discount to each participant and a $20.00 family discount to the third participant. Therefore, the $25.00 zip code discount must be added to the $20.00 family discount for the third participant, resulting in a total discount of $45.00.

7. Indicate the discount expiration date if necessary.

8. Select the status: Active or Inactive

9. Click the Confirm button.

Modify discounts

To edit a discount, click on it to bring up the right-hand side panel. You can edit the title, expiration date, and status of your discount by clicking on either of the blue pencils. You can also delete it by clicking on the Actions button and selecting the “Delete” option.

How are discounts calculated?

Cash rebate ($)

Example 1 - Multi-Participant discounts only ($)

Cash discount ($) for a family of three children with only the Multi-Participant rebate

• The registration fees are $500, $400, and $300.

• The membership fee is $46.16.

• The second child receives a $50 discount.

• The third child receives a $100 discount.

Example 2 - Postal code discount only ($)

Cash discount ($) for a family of three children with only the rebate by postal code

• Registration fees are $500, $400, and $300.

• The membership fee is $46.16.

• Each child receives a $25.00 discount based on their zip code.

 Example 3 - Zip code discount and multiple participant discount ($)

Cash discount ($) for a family with three children, including zip code and “multiple participants” discounts

• Registration fees are $500, $400, and $300.

• The membership fee is $46.16.

• Each child receives a $25.00 postal code discount.

• The second child receives a $50 discount.

• The third child receives a $100 discount.

Percentage discount (%)

Example 1 - Multi-Participant discounts only (%)
