Add a Qualification
Important: the creation of a qualification using the external provider Brightspace is only created by Hockey Canada.
To create a qualification requiring Brightspace's external provider, go to the Settings menu, select Clinic, and then you can click on the Qualifications tab.
Then, you can click + Add on the right.
Complete the required fields:
The * indicates a mandatory field.
Category *: select the qualification category to create it
Level: select qualification level
Name *: enter the name of the qualification
Description: enter the description of the qualification (optional)
Note: if Hockey Canada adds a description, it will be impossible for a branch to modify or delete the description. The description will be displayed when creating your clinic and selecting the qualification.
Member Type: select the type of membership that will be attributed to the participant when they complete the clinic.
Example: if you select the Coach member type for the Competition 1 Coach clinic, the participant will receive the Coach member type when he qualifies.
Certified: select Yes or No if this qualification requires certification.
Expiration Type: select one of the following from the drop-down menu:
No Expiration: the qualification remained active and did not expire.
Fixed Period: if you specify that the expiry type has a fixed period, the system will automatically expire the qualification according to the parameters entered. For this reason, you must complete the Expires After field.
Expires After *: indicate after how many years the qualification will expire.
Note: If you add an expiry date to the qualification, it will take priority over the one added to the clinic.
Status: Indicate if the status of this qualification is Active or Inactive.
External Provider: if this qualification uses an external provider such as Brightspace, you must select the provider and it will be used for this qualification.
Note: by specifying an external provider, all clinics using this qualification must go through the provider to complete the clinic.
External Identifier: select the content of the external provider to be associated with this qualification
Fees: Hockey Canada may charge a fee for this qualification, which will be added to the clinic fees from each branch.
Example: if Hockey Canada adds a fee of $5.00 and your branch charges $50.00 for a clinic with this qualification, $55.00 will be charged to each registered participant.
When finished, you can click on Create.
Search for a Qualification
If you wish to search for a qualification in the list of qualifications in the Settings - Clinic menu, a search engine allows you to search by qualification name, and a drop-down menu allows you to select the type of member category.
In the search box on the left, enter the name of the qualification to specify your search and/or select the member category for which the qualification is designed from the drop-down menu.
Modify or Delete a Qualification
To modify or delete a qualification, select the qualification of your choice and click on it to open the side panel on the right.
You can use the blue pencil in the side panel to make the desired changes.
To remove the qualification, click the Action button and select Remove.
Note: it will be impossible to delete a qualification if it is linked to an active clinic or if it has been assigned to a participant.
