Here’s the latest releases and updates from the Spordle PLAY platform :
Assign by Venue’s Primary Office Update
We have updated the behavior for "Assign by Venue" (Assigner Determination). Previously, if a venue’s primary office was not associated with a game, the system would fall back to other related offices based on team associations (home or away teams). To simplify this process and make it more intuitive, we have removed this fallback. Now, the assignment will only consider the primary office set on the venue. If no primary office is defined for a venue, no assignment office will be set for the game.
Change in Name: The option is now called “Assign by Venue's Primary Office” instead of “Assign by Venue” to reflect this update.
Here’s in the example Abbotsford minor hockey is the primary office for the Abbotsford Centre venue. If we choose to assign by primary venue; the assignment office will be set for Abbotsford minor hockey.
Conflict Filter for Draft Games
BC Hockey users previously had access to a toggle in the old scheduler that allowed them to view draft games with potential conflicts. This feature has now been reinstated. The conflict filter is available in the following sections in all the sports:

UX Improvement for Importing Teams into a Schedule
To enhance usability when importing teams, we have updated the default filter behavior. Previously, users were often unaware that a category filter was applied by default when adding a new team. Now, when the user clicks “+ Add Teams” within a schedule, the filter by category is clearly labeled and is off by default. Users can still apply the schedule category filter using a new toggle if needed.
Schedule CSV Import - BC Hockey
BC Hockey users previously had the ability to import teams directly into a schedule using a CSV file in the old scheduler. With the new scheduler, this feature was temporarily lost. We have now reinstated this functionality. When a CSV file is imported, a notification will appear to inform the user that any new teams in the CSV will be added automatically to the schedule.
Suspension Purging Team - Soccer Specific
For soccer users, there is now an option to add a purging team on a suspension. This feature allows suspensions to carry over when a player moves from one team to another or from one season to the next.
Automatic Address Contact Verification in MyAccount
When linking a user’s account to MyAccount or inviting a user to MyAccount, their address contact will now be added automatically, with notifications turned on by default. Additionally, the first time a user logs into MyAccount, their address contact will be verified automatically. This means that when linking a profile to MyAccount, the address contact will only be verified upon the next login.
