Request and manage tournament sanctions

 

This section explains how to apply for a sanction and manage tournament competitions.

 

Note: This option is available for organization categories defined as tournaments.

 

 

 

Users

Tournament managers will be assigned a tournament user role by your regional organization. Once you have access, you can add users by giving them the tournament management role defined by your provincial organization.

To grant access, click on Manage and My Tournament and select the User tab. Then click on + Add.

Request a sanction

Note: you must submit only one sanction request per Division and Category.

As a tournament, you must submit a sanction request that your regional or provincial organization will approve. Tournament sanction requests must be submitted each season.

  • To make this request, click on Manage and My Tournament.

  • Then select the Competition tab.

  • Click on + Add to make your sanction request.

Competition details

You must then complete the required fields.

Fields marked with * are mandatory.

  • Division *: Indicate the division of your tournament.

  • Category: Indicate the category of your tournament.

  • Available Places: Indicate the number of places available.

  • Level of competition: Select the level of competition from the drop-down menu.

    • National

    • Provincial

    • Regional

    • Local

  • Sanction: The amount to be paid for the sanction request.

  • Fee per team: Indicate the amount each team will pay for your tournament.

  • Last date for team registrations: The last date for team registrations should be before the start of the competition

  • Competition format :

    • Single Elimination

    • Double Elimination

    • Triple Elimination

    • Consolation

    • False Double Elimination

    • Round Robin

  • Dates :

    • Option #1 *: Indicate your first choice of tournament start and end dates.

    • Option #2: If applicable, indicate a 2nd choice of tournament start and end dates.

  • Application note: You can enter a note if you have any particularities about your tournament.

Click on Next.

 

Display information

  • Enter the name of your tournament.

  • Enter your tournament description.

Click on Submit.

 

  • Once completed, a window will appear telling you your request has been made successfully.

 

Request status

The status of your sanction request will be displayed as Pending.

  • The status will change once your regional or provincial organization processes your request.

 

Side panel of your request

The information entered for your sanction request will be displayed in the Information tab on the side panel.

  • You can modify specific fields using the blue pencil.

  • You can also change your request by clicking the Action button and selecting Edit. The two windows of your request will be displayed, so make the desired changes and click Save.

  • If you mistakenly requested it, you can delete it by clicking the Action button and selecting Delete.

  • The Add a Team and Publish Competition option will be grayed until your request is approved. You will, therefore, be unable to add teams to your tournament.

 

Request Approval

If your sanction request is approved, its status will change. You will not be able to make any changes to your request for the following items:

  • Publication date

  • Tournament name

  • Last date for team registrations

  • Tournament description

Now that your sanction request has been approved, you can add teams, as the option will no longer be grayed out. For more information on adding a team, please consult the Tournament - Register a team documentation.

 

Decline Request

If your sanction request is refused, its status will change to Declined, and all fields will be disabled, and no changes will be possible.

If you want to change your sanction request, you must create a new one following the above process.
