Here’s the latest releases and updates from the Spordle PLAY platform

New Features

Sub-Organizations Toggle When Assigning

A new sub-organization toggle has been added to the assigning panel and quick assign in the game list, allowing control over the inheritance of referees displayed during the assignment. Additionally, new filters have been introduced, including unavailable referees, ineligible referees, and expired referees.

Signing the Lineup in Play Uses User's Name

Since Play requires users to be logged in, selecting a signatory when signing a lineup is no longer necessary. Now, the system automatically uses the name of the logged-in user as the signatory. Additionally:

• The position of the user on the game will be displayed.

• If the signatory is not part of the game, their HCR ID will be shown.

Duplicate Game Button on the Game Summary

The game summary card now has a new "Duplicate Game" button. This button allows users to create a draft game with the same properties as the original in the current schedule. This is useful for rescheduled games, as it allows users to keep the original game for historical purposes while creating a new one.

• Future enhancements will include the ability to link original and new games for better tracking.

Validation for Duplicate Jersey Numbers

A soft validation has been added to notify users of duplicate jersey numbers in a lineup. This warning does not block users from proceeding but serves as an alert.

Redirect to Pre-Game in Scorekeeping App When Game Starts

• The "Scorekeeping" button on the game summary page is now labeled "Scorekeeping App" for clarity.

• If a game has started, the alert "Game has not been completed yet" now includes a "Scorekeeping App" button for direct access.

• New logic directs users to the pre-game section if the game has yet to start and to the scorekeeping section if it has..

• This update prevents users from completing pre-game tasks inside the scorekeeping app when they were already handled in Spordle Play.

Official Categories Summary Tab Adjustments

To improve the flow of modifying official categories:

• The "Cancel" button is now labeled "Close" in the Summary tab but still closes the dialog.

• The "Cancel" button in the Edit tab now switches the user back to the Summary tab.

• The "Save" button is only visible in the Edit tab and redirects the user back to the Summary tab upon saving.

• Fixed a bug where the Summary tab’s positions did not match the Edit tab’s available choices.

Bug Fixes

Assigned Scorekeepers Can Now See Officials

Previously, assigned scorekeepers could not see the officials assigned to a game in the Scorekeeping App. This issue has been resolved, ensuring proper visibility of assigned officials.
